We have two cats who LOVE to sit on their little window perches and watch the birdies torment them outside the window. This is a great way to 1) give the kids something to do, and 2) give the cats plenty of birds to watch. As with most great ideas, it's super simple:
- Grab an empty toilet paper or paper towel roll.
- Spread peanut butter all over it (the kids will have a ball doing this, trust me!)
- Roll it in bird seed. You might want to pat the seeds down a little just to make sure they stick.
- Hang your seeded tube on tree branches, and wait for your first customer.
You can also do this with pine cones. Just use string to tie them onto the branches!
