Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 to 2 pounds flank steak
- 2/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2/3 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper (add 2 teaspoons if you like spicier beef jerky)
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Directions:
- Trim the flank steak of any excess fat, place in a Ziploc bag and freeze for 1 to 2 hours to firm up.
- Remove the steak from the freezer and thinly slice the meat, with the grain, into long strips.
- Place the strips of meat and the marinade ingredients into a large, 1-gallon Ziploc bag. Place the bag in the refrigerator for 3-6 hours, turning several times to evenly distribute the marinade.
- Remove the steak and pat dry on paper towels.
- Place the strips on your food dehydrator trays, careful that none of the pieces are touching or overlapping.
- Turn the dehydrator on, and run for approximately 10-12 hours.
- When the meat is fully dried, place into an airtight container for 2 to 3 months in a cool, dry place.
Good luck keeping it for 2 to 3 months....ours is usually gone within a few days!
