This is What We're Doing Today

It's that time of year again.....the time when little boys all across this great country of ours fashion Pinewood Derby cars using blocks of wood, 4 nails, plastic wheels and a WHOLE lotta imagination.  That's my little Zacky-B grinning ear to ear after getting the Most Original trophy for his Wii Remote car, driven by none other than Luigi.  Yep, we were up & out of the house earlier than a school day this morning.  Headed to the Pinewood Derby racetrack.  Fueled by glazed donuts, and chocolate milk we sat back and watch a group of six Tiger Cubs cheer each other on.  There were no tears from losing cars (that would be ours), just lots of grins and high fives.  It was really sweet.  And heart warming.  I loved the little boy who painted his car like the Ethiopian flag "cuz I'm from Ethiopia".  And the child who painted his blue with a lightening bolt on it and named it Invisible Blue (because it's so fast you can't even see it - don't blink!).  It's been a week (or so) of painting, and sanding, and steel wooling, and weighing, and spending fun time with Dad.  This, my friends, is how we are spending our time today.  And this is all five of us grinning from ear to ear!  I hope you have a fantastic weekend with the people who matter most to you.
