What a cute idea for a reading nook for your little ones. The shelves are actually IKEA spice racks - ingenious! I love that the books are all readily visible, which means it's less intimidating that a shelf full of spines for them to look at. Simply swap out the titles every week or two, and VIOLA! You've got a whole new library for them to explore. Thankfully, all my kids are fantastic readers - but I think that's in large part due to a dedication to reading to them every single day, and encouraging them at a very early age to LOVE to escape into a book! I think it's a beautiful gift you can give to your child and it doesn't cost a penny! We are avid supporters of our local library - and go there on a regular basis. We are blessed with a fantastic city library where we can check out books, music CD's, audio books, even the latest DVD's. If you haven't been to your local library recently, you really should check it out. You might be pleasantly surprised at the upgrades.
