Cupcake Riding Candy Cane Sleigh
OK, THIS is seriously adorable. I saw it and immediately thought "GOTTA do that for the boy's school parties." Then I remembered that this is the first time in, geez, probably 8 years that I am NOT Room Mom for one of my boys. I thought I'd been there, done that, and figured I'd let some other parents have all the fun. It is such a relief not to have to worry about it, yet every (stinkin') time the holiday parties get brought up they ask me why I'm not Room Mom. GUILT. Anyways..............nearly every single classroom will have cupcakes served. But Frost Me Blog had the brilliant idea to take it one step further and put the cupcake on a candy cane sleigh. NOT difficult. SUPER creative, and the kiddos will swear you are a super hero. She's got a FULL TUTURIAL with step by step photos on her blog. LOVE IT!
Banana-Chocolate Tortillas
Yum-o! These are addictive hot or cold. Breakfast or dessert (although I'm partial to breakfast!). The recipe is not too difficult and not time-consuming. And the finished product? Well, just take a look! Head HERE for the recipe. I just might have to whip up a batch for the boys for while they're doing their homework.

I Gotta Roll
Good morning! I hope everybody has a fantastic weekend. I'm doing some quick updates, and then I'm most likely gone until Monday. I have to clean this house (yuk!) and then bake, bake, bake like a fool tomorrow during our annual Holiday Bake-A-Palooza (yum!).
Monday I will:
- Be recovering from a cookie dough hangover, and
- Post some photos so you can see the goods!
$5 Off Haircuts at Cool Cuts
My kids are sportin' some CRAZY hair these days. They have needed a haircut for weeks now, and we've just been too busy. I was planning to try to trim 'em up myself this weekend, but perhaps with this $5 off any service coupon from Cool Cuts I'll just save myself the trouble! I like that I don't have to clean up all the hair of the floor, and they'll like that they can play video games while getting their new 'do!
Thanks, My Dallas Mommy!
Candy Cane Place Cards
Oh, I can think of soooooo many uses for this clever idea! Definitely for KID'S Holiday Parties at school. Cute as can be for your Christmas table. Sew Many Ways has this smart idea posted on her blog. She used hot glue to stick the candy canes together. I'm thinkin' maybe I'll go with Wilton's frosting - the kind in the little glue bottle that dries hard. That way you can actually EAT your little place card too! (I'm all about the eatin'!) Head to the Sew Many Ways site for a quick tutorial. So cute, and so easy! Two of my favorite things!

Cinnamon Honey Butter
I soooo could have used this recipe this morning with my Cinnamon Raisin Bread toast. I WILL, however, be whipping up a batch for tomorrow's breakfast! Fly Through Our Window has this great (and super easy) recipe that would make lovely gifts, or can just be gobbled up by the fam!

Please Excuse Me While I Rant & Rave

In the past, I have posted several daily deals from a site called SaveMore.com. Please be advise that you will NEVER, EVER see another posting about this ireputable company again on this blog. I would strongly advise each of you to never do business with these guys. I thought perhaps the issues were isolated to me, but a quick look at their facebook page shows me that this company is TERRIBLE. You will see all sorts of comments from people (just like me) who ordered vouchers from them and had issues redeeming them, or the product(s) never arrived. When you attempt to contact SaveMore.com to resolve the situation, the following sequence of events will occur:
- You will remain on hold for many, long minutes listening to annoying elevator music until they eventually put you into a voicemail box. This will happen EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU CALL.
- You will leave a voice message, which will never get returned (no matter how many you leave)
- You will send several (increasingly angry) emails to their help email address box, all of which will go unanswered.
- You will ultimately arrive at the conclusion that you can kiss your money goodbye.
I am no novice at Daily Deal sites. I feature them on my blog, I buy them all the time, I USE them all the time and almost NEVER have problems. On the rare occasion that I have had problems, I am able to contact the company immediately and get it resolved. NOT THE CASE with SaveMore.com. Do NOT purchase from this company, and please tell everyone you know to NOT do business with them. There. I feel better now. Not as good as I would if SaveMore.com would REFUND my stinkin' $89, but better none the less. Jerks. Oh, wait. Now I DO feel better.
Reminder - This Starts Today!
Mark your calendars! Burger King is offering Buy One, Get One Free Whoppers December 9th-11th. No coupon necessary.
Thanks, MojoSavings!

Traveling Over The Holidays?
Are you traveling over the holidays? Thankfully, we are NOT. We are staying close to home and hoping to grab some much needed couch/napping/family time. If you ARE traveling, you might want to check out the local Daily Deals available in the city you are traveling TO. That is a great way to save a little cash on eating out or entertainment. Usually the deals are available immediately - sometimes there is a 24 hour waiting period. It's certainly worth checking into. There are hotel, meal and entertainment deals to be had in most major cities. Here's a list of popular Daily Deal sites you might check into before you leave:

DIY Oreo Pops
Cake Pops are ALL THE RAGE right now. And I DO agree, they're yummy and fun. But EXPENSIVE! And no fun to make (just eat). THESE, I like! Meet the Oreo Pop, the brilliant brainchild of the Hip Hip Hooray! blog. THESE I can do. Go to Party City and buy some sticks and some melting chocolate (sprinkles too, if you don't already have 'em). Swing thru the grocery store on your way home and grab some Oreos. I'm going for the Double Stuffs. HURRY home. Melt your chocolate. Stick your sticks in the Oreos. Dip. Sprinkle. Done. You will be a HERO to anyone who you share these with. Make 'em for a party, and guest will think you spent a FORTUNE on 'em. Just smile, and accept all the compliments! Think of all the different ways these could be done - all the different FLAVORS of Oreos. White, vs. milk chocolate. You could do any number of holiday themes. What fun! Hip Hip Hooray, indeed!
