Have You Missed Me? :)

Sorry for the very-late-in-the-day posts today.  We took care of some family business, then had some family fun.  Tim has taken a few days off work so it's been nice getting out of our routine and spending some extra time with Daddy.  Except for poor Sam who is up & out the door by 6:00 AM every morning for Marching Band (I really have to admire his dedication and tenacity in dealing with this triple digit heat - I couldn't do it)!

Our first little bit of business was a quick trip to the Emergency Room to get a little hardware removed from Zachy B's noggin.  THAT, my friends, are five medical staples he's been sporting around in the back of his head since he & his brothers got the bright idea to play Chicken in the swimming pool.  NOT a good idea, and I'm pretty sure they've all learned their lesson.  He just HAD to bring them home as a souvenir, where they will surely sit on his dresser until I get tired of lookin' at 'em.
Then it was off for some fun at Zone Action Park in Lewisville.  Despite the oppressive heat, we played mini golf and rode go-carts and went in the batting cages and jumped in the bounce house and played arcade games and ate ice cream.....yep, we had a blast.  So while you were checkin' the blog and wondering why your dear old blogging buddy has fallen down on the job, I was out having all sorts of fun.  Sorry!  :)

Here's a few things I learned today:
  • I take the "sport" of mini-golf WAY too seriously!
  • We always have more fun when Daddy's around.
  • My two youngest boys are braver than I was at their age.  Although he was a little intimidated to drive the go-cart by himself, AJ was able to conquer his fear and tore up the track.  Despite some other Dad and his kid bumping him repeatedly and freakin' him out (seriously, dude?!?), he was really proud of himself (so were we!).
We were really impressed with Zone Action Park.  There were plenty of attractions to keep the boys entertained.  When it got too hot out, we could escape to the arcade and have a snack to cool down.  There were also a few bounce houses, batting cages and mini golf.  Plenty to see and do, at a very reasonable price.  I loved that it was all clean and the employees were all very helpful.  FUN TIMES!!!  Don't you just love summer?
